I saw the iceberg floating off the starboard bow
But I didn’t want to wake you so I guess we’ll all just drown
And I was on the night shift when the red phone started to ring
But I’m not one to cry wolf so I didn’t say a thing

But now I’m in a room packed with strangers wall to wall
And there’s a cloud of smoke starting to grow above us all
But there’s no sound to be heard; no movement to be seen
Eyes downcast towards the floor; nobody says a thing

No one’s yelling fire
No one wants to be the first to speak
So we’ll all burn in silent solidarity
Cause we don’t want to be alarmists
We don’t want to do anybody harm
So we’ll just sit ever so quiet on the sidelines

I watched the cracks in the dam starting to grow

But the room is getting dark now as the smoke is thickening
Like a heavy woolen blanket hanging off of the ceiling
And we’re all struggling to breathe; hunched down on all fours
